Well i know this is pretty simple, but i'm looking to buy a new sound card for the comp i'm building. I had bought an Audigy 1 when it first came out for my current PC and i could not get the thing installed right. (This was also a while ago and over the past few years i've learned A LOT more about computer hardware) Creative Labs tech support was very helpfull with trying to help me get the thing installed correctly, but it never happened.

Anywase, i was thinking about getting an Audigy 2. The motherboard i'm going to be using is an Asus P4P800. I just want something that sounds real good for gaming and music. I'm going to be using a 4.1 speaker set up. Does anyone have any expereince with the p4p800 and the Audigy 2 on the same system and have any problems with them? Or can anyone recomend another sound card, maybee cheaper that would sound just as good?

i have the creative audigy 2 platinum ex and i have no regrets about that wat so ever i luv it LOL

i say at least get the platinum since most people now have a lot of mini disc players or mp3 .... but the platinum is also great for the dvds etc. so get the platinum not just the audigy 2

I would not get the platinum unless your case is in a closed cabinet... cause that thing is ugly! Plus I don't see any use for any of it... seems silly to plug all those wires into the front of your computer...

I have the p4p800 with an audigy 2, no problems easy install. Sounds great also. But if you still have the audigy 1, you can use hacked drivers from the audigy 2 and the sound difference would be very little.

wait for the audigy 2 nx, should be out in a week or so. The M-Audio Revelution won't be as good for gaming and unless you are an audiophile i doubt you'd notice the difference in sound quality. It costs more too.

The Santa Cruz may not be the best for gaming, but if you can get it for $6 (see Hot Deals) that's a steal and very much worth a try. (MSRP = $79.99).
