Buying a scanner

Don't plan to scan any photos with it.

Any recommendations?

I'm looking at the Canon Lide 25 right now or something in that range

CCD Scanner is the way to go...

CIS Scanners are decent, but tend to work better with documents (bills, letters). CCD using acutal optics and they tend to produce a better 3d image.

Though, a cheap CCD scanner probably won't be as good as a nice CIS...
