I've read 996GT2's thread on cameras but found a lot of people not liking the Samsung. I've also done searching on dpreview, amazon reviews, steve's digicams, and other sites and have narrowed it down to one of these 4 (I think). I'm mainly going to use it as a standard point and shoot, some kids sports, vacations, boating pictures, etc. I'm just not sure which is the best for me? I had a fuji 6 mp I loved but sold it and had a sony 12 mp that seemed very grainy no matter what I did.

Canon Powershot SX230 HS $300.00
Sony Cybershot DSC-H70 $200ish
Samsung TL350/WB2000 $240ish
Canon PowerShot SD1300 IS $140.ish

Which would you choose out of these 4, or in this wide price range, is there a better one you would suggest and why?

If you're going to use it as a standard point and shoot, SD1300 IS will be fine. The TL350 is more for people who want more manual controls.

the SD1300 IS seems a little too dumbed down, thats all.

I want a few more options I think.

Looking to get something that shoots at least 720p and can zoom while recording video as well.
Any recs for Panasonics? I'm using a DMC-LZ10 now and really like the design and look of most Pannys.

Panasonic makes the best P&S cameras IMO. I love my ZS1, but it's gradually dying due to sand getting in the lens mechanism.

I picked up this one for my parents last christmas to replace their Nikon 3200 which they didn't want to give up due to how nice the pictures came out. However years later they noticed how much more quickly others cameras worked. So I stepped in ;)

They were amazed and their pictures come out great and now they can zoom in during cruises and the like.

I ended up getting this one cheaply at Radio Shack. Canon PowerShot SD1300 IS $140.ish

Think i paid like $59.00 or something. At any rate, it is a great camera for us.
