OK.

I don't want one of those crappy free after rebate cheapo chairs...

I want a nice one.

What brands out there are decent? Around $200 or so?

I know that the Herman Miller Aeron chairs are the best. They are a bit out of my price range...what is the next brand right below the Aeron chairs in terms of comfort?

Thanks dudes!

A while back, Cost Co was actually selling Aerons for right around 200...I don't know if they still are, but if you can find someone nearby selling a used one, I imagine you shouldn't spend much more than $200...good luck.

My cheap FAR chair suits me just fine. ;)

Just go to office depot/staples and plop your butt down in a couple of them and try them out. The only way.

Everyone has different tastes in chairs.

Just search in the Hot Deals forum or at the wallet of substantial girth.

Depends on how much you use the chair. If you have back problems and sit a LOT, I'd look into a heavy duty office chair.. Office Depot had one for like $169 -- I don't recall the brand, but I have one in my office and it's fantastic. It has 6-way tilt, the mechanism itself weighs like 15lbs (!!!) It was the only chair they had marked "heavy use." All the others were for light/medium duty and were more "plush." The longer you sit in the chair the more firm you want it to be. Make sure it has lumbar support.
