I've finally decided to jump on the boat and get a cell phone - been trying to avoid them for a long time because I hate the attachment people generate with their phones (and I'm not looking forward to paying $70 a month). I know I'll be going with a Smartphone of some kind, and I'll probably be doing the minimums for both phone and data plans.
I have two brand loyalties - Verizon (which I'd like to keep, I have FiOS so I believe I get a discount) and Samsung (not as strong, but I like their other products). I've been looking at the Samsung Saga i770, which seems to fit my needs very well, but...
Does anyone have any experience with this phone?
It's a 'world phone', functionality that I won't use anytime soon - how much would I be paying for this over, say, a Samsung Epix?
Are there better options for Smartphones in the $150 range (particularly from Verizon)?
Of the reviews I've read, it seems the Saga is one of the most polished Windows Mobile phones, and I love the touchpad and overall design. I don't, though, want to pay too much for things I'll never use.
The other phone I've been considering is the Omnia, but I like the layout of the Saga better. That and the Omnia's resolution (400x240, vs. 320x320 on the Saga) on a screen that big doesn't sound very pretty to me.
