Hi guys.....i'm brand new in those forums.....and almost in the computers world too.....One year ago i bought my brand new laptop Toshiba A30 ( P4 - 3.06 GHz, it "was" nice), but after some hazardous facts start to get wrong more and more, over all a lot, lot of hit........finally one day broke down dead...all those hit........
Now i'm about to buy a new one, i've seen a good opportunity and also i like the model, is a HP pavilion zd7341EA...is looks pretty good, 17" inches........but got a P4 3GHz 800FSD and Hyper-Threading Tech.
i would like to be sure what i'm buying, sometimes i play some games, but not too much at all, mostly i planned to use it for study, (but if i need to fry eggs i got a good fry-pan in my kitchen.....also a lot more chip).
Please guys, i need your help and yur advices soon, the offer could go in any moment....

For a notebook I just would never buy anything with a P4 in it, I would look into something w/ the Pentium M or a Mobile Athlon 64 and go from there.

The P4 isnt a "bad" chip for a notebook, but there are much better ones. I agree with getting a Pentium-M which you will see advertised with the "centrino" name on it. Not that it has to be centrino to be a P-M. But if it does have the label you are sure of it (and intel 845 chipset and intel wireless)

These chips are VERY fast per mhz and use a very small amount of juice. So if portability is a factor then definately dont overlook this bad boy

I wouldn't buy a notebook if it wasn't Intel Centrino. These babies have it all, speed, lightweight, portable... get one, you wont be dissapointed.

A Pentium M 1.5GHz should be enoguh. Get one with 512MB or RAM and a 40GB hard drive (minimum).
