Buying a new keyboard

I've been needing a new keyboard for awhile now. While I have become used to my current board, a MS wireless comfort, I've never liked the keys. In addition...no macros, except for lame "web/home, calender, mail, messenger, my docs" preset buttons. And I've never enjoyed wireless input devices. For some reason, it just bugs the shit out of me, either when they start losing battery power, or the signal gets screwy.
Ultimately, I would like one with "softer," backlit keys, customizable macros, and of course, wired. I've looked over a few of the razers but haven't really had the chance to test em out. Any advice or recs would be awesome.

logitech G11 has 3x the number of macro keys as the G15, without the stupid LCD screen that almost no one really needs, for $20 less.

easy to use, and you can reprogram the macro keys on the fly relatively easily from what i hear. im currently transitioning from 1 personal setup to having a second setup for friends, and i need another keyboard. frys has one of these on display to try using with a few of their custom built gaming rigs and it worked wonderful. the backlight also has 3 different levels of brightness for late night use. not sure if i remember correctly but i THINK it also has a usb port on it somewhere

ed: most review sites actually rate it higher than the G15

Saitek, not Eclipse. The Eclipse's don't fit what OP wants because of their minimalistic no-frills style.

I'm a keyboard junkie and the Razer Tarantula is almost perfection. If they release a 2nd version with all the keys backlit and add a pause button for the audio controls. It would be 100% perfect.

Tarantula > the rest
