I'm planning on buying a computer in the next 2-4 weeks and I'm having some trouble choosing which parts to buy. I'm definitely getting an amd64 processor, probably the 3000+ socket 939, a Silverstone temjin 6 case, 10,000rpm 72 gb WD Raptor and 512x2 mushkin 3200 ram but I can't decide on a good psu, motherboard, and video card.
My budget is roughly $1000 us dollars, I already have a monitor and optical drives I plan on using and probably replacing at a later stage. I'm trying to make a decent gaming computer that I can play games like hl2 on, in dx9 mode with aa/af but without buying extremely expensive parts. I'm not baised toward any manafacturers other than amd but the small amount of options on the nvidia SLI motherboards has made me think about getting a non-sli board or ati's promised competitor to SLI, but I don't feel like waiting another 1-2 months before getting my computer. How long till this competitor or a DFI Lanparty board for the 939 socket comes out?
As long as the video card has no known issues with the motherboard and the psu is modular I don't really care who made them, as long as the parts are of good quality. Thanks in advance for any good advice you guys can give me.
