buying a new camera, help.

I'm looking for a 4mp camera in the <$250 range. The camera that i had in mind was the sony p9 (probably getting it off someone on ebay). i was also thinking of getting the canon s400 because of the smaller size, but that camera is about $100 more, on ebay at least. i've also considered the olympus stylus 400, but the picture quality and price didn't atract me to it at all, perhaps you others feel otherwise?

I was looking for something small, pretty quick startup, and can take pictures up to 4mp, with decent picture quality.

is there any other camera that i should consider?

Olympus c4000 ($250)

4.0 Megapixels
Maximum resolution: 2,288 x 1,712
10x total zoom (optical x digital)
3x optical zoom
6.5mm - 19.5mm (equivalent to 32mm - 96mm on a 35mm camera)
Aperture range: f2.8 - f11
3.3x digital zoom
Shutter speed: 1/1,000 - 16 seconds
Real image optical viewfinder with autofocus & backlight mark

Probably the best camera under $300 right now.

I'll probably be gettng the Canon S410 myself, since it replaces the S400 that I liked the best of the 4 & 3.2 MP cameras I compared at www.imaging-resource.com

To me the Canon test shots on that site looked much better than the Fuji and Nikon cameras I compared them to.

search "cam" for a bunch of other recent camera threads.

hmm...the c4000 is about 3x the size i would like in a camera, (i would like to carry it around in a place like my pant pocket). looks like maybe i might wait for the s410 to drop in price. unless i can get the sony p9 under $200.
