my sister needs a new computer (she is a graphic designer so that is why she needs a Mac)

im wondering if she should wait till the intel chips come out for them

she will be purchasing a powerbook (i hear they are supposed to be one of the 1st models to get the intel chips)

what would you all do?

and/or what do you think is the best option?

P.S. i asked the apple rep at work, he was saying that there really is going to be no differance... but i believe he just wanted to sell an apple laptop as soon as possible

I do Graphics/3D. I want an Apple laptop, but I'm going to wait until the Intel ones are out, and I already have an Apple desktop. At least wait for a G5...
What I did was buy RAM for the Apple desktop so it's still nicely speedy and not giving me issues for now, and I will be upgrading to Tiger this weekend- I just finished a serious back-up. I'm actually also planning on getting a PC on the side, just for games like Civilization 4. :p

no knowing much about apples i can only go on what i have read on the apple site and when they released their intel items. i believe they found a single 3.4GHz intel faster than their dual G5, somebody correct me if i am wrong, but that is what i remember. so i would wait for a intel based product.

just out of curiosity, since they make both of the majority of graphic design software in both pc/mac flavors(adobe, macromedia, etc), why do all the graphic artists still like mac better? especially after apple themselves proved that the intel platform was faster.
