I just purchased a S60 maybe 2 weeks ago so far i love this tv the only downside i have found is there isnt enough HDMI ports for me. I was thinking about purchasing a HDMI switch vs having to keep switching cables back and forth from one thing to another. I'm just hesitant to get a switch because i do not want to sacrifice picture quality. Is this usually a problem when adding a switch to your setup and can anyone please recommend a good switch? Also this is just a side question but i also purchased a soundbar for the tv which is using HDMI Input #2 i was thinking of going with an optical cable to free up that port is there going to be a change in sound quality by switching from HDMI to Optical?

so, monoprice?

which soundbar do you have? Chances are there will be little to no difference in sound quality from the soundbar whether it is fed through hdmi or optical.

yah i may go with that switch from monoprice i have ordered a couple things from them in the past (mostly cables) and it seems like not only do they have really good prices but there products are good quality.

Someone posted this switch on another forum i posted on.

the soundbar has hdmi input and output, which I assume is a pass through function so hdmi switch output goes to sound bar input then you feed the output of the soundbar to the tv.

Does toslink support the high end bluray formats? You may get DTS or DD5.1. I doubt you'll notice with just a soundbar for audio anyways.

Do you have a macro capable remote? How many devices are you trying to plug in? I'd try and get a switch large enough for all of them so you don't have to use two different input buttons. The other thing I'd check on if you're using a macro remote is that the switch supports direct selection of input via remote. IE the remote has a button for input 4, not you have to toggle through the inputs. Makes programming a whole lot easier.
