I want to buy a double layer DVD burner tonight and I am deciding between these 2:

Liteon 8x

Optorite 12x

I really wanted to get a Liteon, but they don't have a 12x double layer one yet. Should I wait or I am ok purchasing one of these 2. Does anyone have experience with either of these drives. Please let me know what you think.

The faster you can write to a double layer is 4X right now. I would get the NEC 2510A instead.

As I recall you can only read it on that drive.

Can't believe I bought a NEC 2500A recently, that thing is wonderful! Kinda reminds me of CD-RWs once they got past 8X-12X or so the speeds soared until 52X then the price started to drop.
