Hi everyone!

Im thinking about buying a new PC, and I want my system to have a decent CD-Writer. The place where Im gonna buy the parts, have the followinf brands:

-Lite-On
-TEAC
-Mitsumi
-Artec
-Acer

The writing speeds go from 16x to 32x, but thats not a problem. The only brand I know is HP, but the newer models are harder to find here and are more expensive, so my question is: Which from these brands is the most trustful one to choose?

I hope any can help me make my decission. Thanks in advance.

I have a 24x liteon burner and can say for the price of it it's a very nice burner...

It all depends on what you want to use your burner, and what you're willing to pay and so forth...

one other brand that most people recommend is plextor... top of the line apparently... I don't know, I'm happy with my liteon :)

I've been considering the Plextor 40x10x40 which is at $150. Also been looking at the Lite on 32x10x40 which is at $95

The plextor can only burn audio cds at 24x which I think is sneaky and misleading. That is why I'm supporting lite on and am gonna order a 32X from Newegg.com probably sunday. The 24x lite on is not much cheaper than a 32x so that extra 30 seconds is worth it :)

The burners I've used are a Smart and Friendly 4x4x32 and a Pacific Digital 24x10x40. The smart and friendly was nice, the mitsumi PD one was horrible and returned asap.

plextor guarantees quality & feel that burning above that speed can lead to degredation of the copy so can you justifibly complain if you only get perfect copies?
