Buying a 6800gt

I am not sure if this is the right place to ask people about there sales experiences but oh well. I am gonna buy my 6800gt from evga.com just wondering if there date of 8/10 is reliable I am going to college and will be leaving august 25th so i need the card soon. Also wondering if i order now will they charge my card now or when it ships, I don't have the money in there now but want to lock my order in as soon as possible my money should be in by end of the week. Thanks ahead for all your answers.

i would move this to the video fourm (I know double posting isn't good) because the guys there are buying the things up like they are going out of style. I am sure a few have bought it from there and can tell you.

That is most likely a reliable date from evga.com I have never order from them so I really don't know. You will have to wait for someone else to reply who bought thier card from them about the CC charge. Also this probably should have been in the video forum.

Considering they moved the ship date from 8/2 to 8/10 I would not consider it reliable....more of a guesstimate.

yeah but if you click on details its says first preorders 8/2/2004 second preorders 8/10/2004

they didnt move back the date...people who preordered for the 8/2 got it shipped today...

now they are taking orders for 8/10
