Buying a 6800 on ebay?

Anyone think it's worth buying a card off ebay? Surprisingly enough the prices seems lower than retail stores (even for those auctions ending soon), and most of them say the cards are new. Just wondering if anyone's had any good or bad luck doing this. I'm almost considering this since this card is so hard to find.

I would do it as long as it were new/shrink wrapped, and from someone with at least 500 positive feedback

shrinkwrapper means nothings. you can shrinkwrap stuff yourself. when i worked at blockbuster awhile back, a guy would use the thing we had in there to shrinkwrap previously viewed videos and use it on things he'd auction off on ebay. they were 'still in shrinkwrap'. for a something as hefty as a video card, i'd say get it from someone in the thousands. i bought my 9700pro originally from someone on ebay, i got it, and it wasn't new. all the stuff in the box was missing. i got my money back and just went to best buy. god, those were the days, when new video cards were actually in retail stores.

I was looking at some video cards (not a 6800) on ebay yesterday. All I can say is look carefully at shipping. You may find a decent price on the video card and they will stiff you on the shipping to the tune of like $25.00 on ground shipping before insurance. Ebay is alright on some stuff but the 6800 video cards are so hot right now, I would not buy one.

The whole optional insurance is a scam on ebay. I always pay by CC and I never buy insurance. If an item gets lost then I expect my money back. That is the reason to use CC's and the seller must abide by it if they accept CC's or paypal.
