buying a 60+ lcd or dlp projection

my dad has been looking at some t.v's at best buy
would you recommend any brands? i was saying samsung and panasonic isnt it true that toshiba isnt as good

is this one good?

we have been looking at the 61 in dlp
and the toshiba 62in dlp

i personally like the one i linked you.

I've got the older 50" version.

I really like the TV. Two of my friends recently bought the 50LC14 after much research. DLPs have their advantages but so do LCDs IMO.

If you have any particular questions on it, give me a PM. I've had my 50LC13 for about 16 months now.

yes there are. just check out best buy or w/e. they tell you right on the page of the tv you're looking at.

I got mine at PC Richards in NJ as did my friend. I haven't shopped TVs in a long time but I have a feeling you could get that 60LC14 for $2400-2700.

For $1000, you can get an InFocus 4805 front DLP projector with a 72" screen from costco. It will be this price later on with a coupon from costco. Right now its $1199. If you have the space and lighting control, this is what I'd go for.

I don't know much about lcd projectoion, i know that smasung DLP projection TVs are really nice once they are properly calibrated.

from what i heard i could get better, also we have 3 toshiba t.v's the 55in bigscreen ( being replaced), my parents have a t.v in there room by toshiba has dvd and vcr build in not sure about size, and my bro has a 20in with vcr.

i have a panasonic 13in . and my bro does to, he got his 1st in white i got mine same but in black.

Well the sites I just went to all seem to indicate that toshiba is pretty dang good. Check out home theater magazine, for example, which rated the toshiba rear projection the highest in its roundup.

its all about personal taste. get the ones you like best from the stores. visit like 4 different stores to see them in different settings. also do some research over on AVS forums.

i am very happy with my 50" samsung DLP and would not trade it for anything in the world. (i know, crappy pics)

Yeah I think they used to be decent. But now they are consistently ranked at the bottom in terms of average reliability. They offer good value if you don't need your TV to last too long, though.

Samsung sets the benchmark for DLP TV's. Look for their newest (i heard it was out now) 3 chip DLP.


Samsung is to DLP as Sony is to CRT (trinitron)

I was at BB this weekend and was looking at all the TV's. I still think CRT has the best picture. I don't mind DLP but I think LCD and Plasmas look too digital. It's not a natural picture.
