Buying a 5900np... need your help!

You must be talking either of 5900SE/XT or plain 5900, 5900np doesn't exist. There are (5900SE) for +/- $180 in newegg but I believe with 2.8ns memory. I can't tell wich ones are 2.2ns memory. There also is 9700Pro in an online store I don't remenber for $195 +/-.

The best value presently dollar to performance is the fx5900se. Look over some of these reviews and you decide. i'm getting one as we speak.

so a "standard" 5900, not a pro and (preferrably) not a SE... unless the SE is atoo good of a deal to pass up

from other posts Ive been reading suggestions and such it seems the 5900np is still the best bang for the buck. The default core clock speed is 400&850 and most can easily OC to pro/ultra speeds. ALl that for ~$40 more over a SE....

prices are hard to find, but its 225 on anandtech's real time engine. Don't just buy any that say 5900, MAKE SURE it is 400MHz core and 400MHz memory,effectively 800MHz, and make sure it has 256-bit memory bus. If you see 128-bit anywhere and or 700MHz like it says in the gainward one on anandtech, then it is not a 5900.

Standard is 5900 or 5900nu (non ultra). Anyway, I've heard there are SE versions with 2.2ns memory, wich is the same 5900 uses. SE stands for lower clocked card this time, not 128bit bus. This SE are cheaper than 5900 but are phisically the same and overclock very well.

Apparently your just blowing this opinion out your @rse since you obviously don't own this card. I do, and it is far from a "cheap sucky card". Built well, overclocks well and if you had bothered to do a little research you would see that Call of Duty is advertised with this card and when not included BFG has been offering to send it to people.

I'd rather deal with BFG's tech support than anyone else's. Where else do you have lifetime toll free 24/7 tech support and warranty? They're great people and their products definately do not suck. If I was going to buy a video card today, it would be a BFG unless I got a great deal on a 9800, in which case, I'd sell the 9800, get a BFG and pocket the difference.
