I am going to buy an 845ge motherboard, and install a 2.4 533 P4 and 512 2700 ddr (one module for now). I don't do any gaming, only some 2D photoshop, so I think the integrated video will be ok, and I can always add a video card later. I want on-board LAN.
I was going to go with the intel board for stability and reliablity, but may want to play around with a little overclocking (if I can get 10-20% more performance for free with solid stability, why not?).
I am looking at the MSI 845GEMAX-L (MS-6580-060) which is on price watch for about $120.
Again, I really want stability and reliability, so will pass on the overclocking if necessary.
Anyone own a MSI 845GE, and any opinions on MSI? Is there a "better" 845ge board?
THANKS!

I have used several of them in computers I have built. They are all rock solid but I didn't oc any of them. They were for customer's and not my own personal use. This is the one I have used. This is the one you are talking about. They are very similar and I am sure you will have similar success with it. Its a great board for the price.

Another one to consider is the EPOX 4GEA+, should be similar to the 4PEA+ that was reviewed at Anandtech.
