I am looking to buy a new system and have chosen some components.
I am looking at a A8N-SLI Premium (already have a 64 4000+), and have chosen two 7800GTx's and a new power supply. My question is should I purchase this stuff now or is there some new products....be it graphic cards, or chipsets that are going to be released fairly soon?

There is always something new out on the horizon..

If you are truely intending on purchasing two 7800GTX's, and those other items, and you already have a 4000+, it appears that money is pretty much not a problem..
I would go for it then.. that system will have you set for a while..

The only significant changes in the hardware world (to my knowledge) is AMD moving toward the upcoming socket M2 and adopting DDRII

Thanks for the reply guys, since I already have a 4000+ the new socket isnt really available to me, I think I will go ahead and make the leap, but instead of the A8N-SLI Premium I will choose the A8N32-SLI Deluxe. Again, thanks for the replies!

Dude you PMd me for advice and it says you don't accept PMs when I reply?

"Unfortunately I can't comment on that as I don't know what the future holds. I do know I've seen 7800GTX SLI run UT2007 and Unreal 3 very well, so I'd think chances are good for two years.

After that, hard to say. It depends a lot on what you mean by "usable".

My theory on top of the line SLI is that it gives next gen performance right away. So if you have two 7800GTXs now, that will trump anything till the next gen cards come out, then be equal to the next gen top of the line. So then you'll have top of the line single card level performance for a year till the next gen comes out.

After that you'll be in the middle of the pack for a year, if history repeats itself with levels of power increases."

That's what I tried to reply.
