Buy now or later?

ok.....well I'm really mixed up as to if I should buy now or later....right now if I were to buy a Radeon 64 ddr...how long would it last me? but if I were to save up a little and buy a gf3 or a R200...then how long would that last me? because direct x 8 is becomes more used and so is programmable t&l...vertex shaders...pixel shaders..etc...how much will that effect geforce 2 cards...radeon cards...kyro cards? because I figure that if I buy a radeon or something it won't last me very long (6 months...then I have to upgrade)....but if I buy a gf3 or R200...it should last me very long (I figure 2 years at most)....but my point is....should I get a dx7 card and save a few hundred bucks....or save up and get a dx8 card instead?

I'd either lowball and get a Radeon LE for $70, or save my pennies and get a Radeon 8500 or a Geforce 3.

I would get a R200 ot GF3 and be done with it! DX8 games are right around the corner, and I dont care what people say its nice to play UT/Q3A(games out now) 1280x1024x32 everything maxxed with fsaa enabled and get awesome frame rates!

If nvidia sticks to the every 6 month cycle the GF5 will be out by then!

If you think Doom III will be released in 6 months then buy a geforce 3. I just recently gave up my voodoo3 3000 and replaced it with a geforce 2 mx. Its runs everything possible right now and can be had very cheaply. When there is an abundance of directx 8 titles I will get a geforce 3 and put my gf2 in my daughters computer. I would just save your money cause the price will drop by the time all these new games will be out.
