Buy new CPU & Video Card in June or December?

I'm getting ready to start buying parts for my new gaming rig in May. I have about $180 a month in my budget I can put towards it, but the wife gets a little irrate when I spend more at one time (even if I didn't spend anything the month before - married guys you know how it goes!). I also get a modest bonus each summer (~$600), but, like my budget, I pretty much need to spend it when I get it.

I'm currently leaning towards a 7800GT and either a E6750 or Q6600.

So, it would be best for my domestic situation to spend my bonus in June on the video card & CPU. Are better, comparably priced Viedo cards & CPU's due out at the end of the year that would be worth me saving/waiting to buy ( & thus spedning valuable wife equity ;) ) and then buy things like case/OS/RAM with my bonus in June?

The reason why I'm asking so far in advance is that I need to keep my primary hobby, cycling, in mind with my budget.

Asking so far in advance is a problem because hardware recommendations may change considerably in a month, let alone in four months.

If you really need recommendations now;
- Why are you after a 7800GT? It is outdated. In budget build, look no further than Radeon 3850 256MB. If you want/need a card with 512MB, you have more options such as 3870 and 8800GT.
- E6750 and Q6600 are being replaced by E8400 and Q5550 and will be well available in stores by May.

Oops! I totally meant 8800GT!

Thanks on the CPU news - that's mostly why I was asking. I wasn't sure what changes were on the horizon.

Ya just seconding the CPU thing. E8400 is cheaper than the E6750 and has a bigger L2 cache. I'm probably going to buy the parts for my PC around the same time you are and I plan on going with the E8400 and the 8800GT.
