DEFINATELY get your ass down to the store and buy it in person!! I got my E200 at a CompUSA with no damange or errors to the monitor at all. Beautiful.

Many people love their 900NF and claim it to be better or just as good as the FD Trinitrons...mine looks a little dull compaired to the E200 and also, there are imperfections around the viewable screen (a slight blur on the lhs and the upper left corner dipping a bit). I came to the conclusion that something screwed up my monitor during shipping (no damange to the box and no physical damange tot he monitor but something has to be causing my monitor to not be as good as many people say it is). So rhe moral is that if you can find whatever monitor in the store, buy it there (and plus you'll have it on your desktop as soon as you go back home!)

Smoking deal on the Samsung 955 DF at Dell.com right now. I just picked one up for $242. Free shipping, no tax. It's going to be $222 after the MIR. I considered going higher end, but I've heard great things about this monitor in this price range. Considering the price that Dell is offering right now, I just had to pull the trigger. ;)

You can see all the details on this deal on Hot Deals. The thread is for the Gateway deal, but the Dell deal is hotter.

that's ok no big deal, thanks

i have been looking back at my purchases these last few years

(i bought my first computer in late 98- a winbook bottom of the line notebook- i even bought it online- my first online purchase)

and one trend stuck out at me- no matter how fast, big, good an item is it now it will be outdated faster than i can afford

so since i'm going to waste money on h/w i'm not going to worry about the small amounts since the money i saved will only contribute to a small increase in features in my current h/w

and by the time i have more money the h/w offering will be so far ahead of my current h/w that i can't even imagine it now

thanks

I recommend Dell too. Shipping is free on any accessories -- including monitors -- if purchasing $100 or more.

Bought 1701FP 17" LCD from Dell : $719 shipped.

Speaking of buying online, I've bought my last 2 Sony CRTs online (Buy.com when they had shipping specials and Egghead.) If you shop around, you can find reasonable shipping...
