Memory prices are pretty cheap right now. should i buy now and hang on to it for a system to be built in September, or should i buy then? they can't come down much more i think ($50 shipped for DDR 2100 256Mb Stick) . Thanks for advice 😀

DON'T BUY now. People were asking the same question about a month ago and look... now you can get 256MB PC100 SDRAM for $20 shipped from Dell.com. Wait till you need it.

<< it could get cheaper.. and it could go up.. its hard to tell >>

That was an answer for you...lol

I bought my extra ram back when it was $60 for some generic stuff, now I am regretting it...lol

Don't buy the RAM now. Who knows what they'll have in September. Maybe QDR-SDRAM? PC3000 DDR-SDRAM? Get what you need when you need it.

QDR is years and year away, DDR-II wont even go into mass production until 2003. PC2700 (166/333) is the next evolution of JEDEC. I dont think buying now is that bad of an idea, 256MB PC2100 for $50 from crucial is pretty amazing.

I bought mine last week because I simply couldn't pass up 512MB PC2100 for less than $100 shipped from Crucial!
