Buy laptop now or wait?

I currently have a laptop that's I've already had to take it in to Best Buy to get it fixed 3 times. Something else just broke on it, and with their extended warranty's no lemon policy if I have to get it repaired a 4th time they have to give me store credit to get a new laptop. The thing that broke is the mouse button, which I never touch and just tap the touchpad anyway, so I can still fully use the laptop I have now. I'm still happy with it and it does what I need it to do.

Question is, should I take it in to Best Buy now and get a new laptop? Or wait until say, September, right before my warranty runs out, and get one then? Basically boils down to should I get a $1700 laptop with today's technology, or technology available in 5 months? It's the ever-present computer debate of buy now or wait and get better technology. Are there going to be any major improvements in laptop technology that come out in the next few months? Anything worth waiting for?

The new version of the Pentium M "Dothan" should be out by then it should be faster, cooler and have better battery life I would wait. Esspeccially since if this laptop has already broken 3 times it will probably REALLY break by the time the warrenty is up, just wait till then

Hey thanks. Do you have any articles you could point me to? I see that it has 2 mb cache, which is certainly nice, but I've read in a few places that it'll consume more energy so I don't see how it could provide better battery life or run cooler.
