Mod's I understand if you lock this, but I think people should know this.

Buy.com's shipping policy for UPS ground is hard to find, and while contractually not enforceable, the one they use nevertheless. 99 out of 100 times you will get your stuff on time if it's not backordered from Buy.com, and I have always felt good about them until now.

If UPS loses an item, however, as they did mine... look out. Buy.com's policy is that you must wait 13 BUSINESS days before you can "file a claim", which starts the inquiry into where your item is. After that, you should expect several more days before they "find" it. If you want to cancel at that point, expect up to 15 more business days for Buy.com to process. UPS lost a shipment of mine on Feb. 28, and Buy.com has informed me that it will be mid-April before my account gets credited. While lost items may be a rare occurrence, the incredibly rude and inflexible treatment I received has assured that Buy.com will never get my business. So, here's a heads up of what you may be in for if UPS ever loses an item of yours that you purchased through Buy.com.

Not to mention it looks like they r on the way out. I have notice things on thier Website like CEO Craig Hawkins signture is NO longer on homepage. They have removed all phone numbers from website. They r NO longer open 24 hours nor 7 days aweek. THEY DO NOT ACCEPT PHONE ORDERS ANYMORE. even if u have records of thier phone #. For the first time ever I notice the clearance items r NOT being replace like they always did in the past. Example those wireless head phones we be seeing for over a year come and go weekly.

ON your lost shipment.I had one lost on me a year ago. Report went in right away. Only had to wait 7 days for credit.

Does not look good.

buy.com seems to give me the run around everytime i have a problem. but persistence pays off and they eventually get their act together. they are incredibly disorganized right now especially without phone support and staff cuts. i don't feel very comfortable shopping there like i did in the past.

Buy.com will be out of business in under 6 months .. their CEO and top execs jumped ship, and they cut half their staff. Stick a fork in them .. they're done.

this is not standard everywhere.
amazon once delayed my monitor shipping.
after i told them about the delay, they shipped a replacement right away.

I would ask to talk to a supervisor, I had a problme a couple week ago, I actually ordered an order about two months ago, and they had the item on back order for almost a month, I finally decided not to wait any more, so I called and cancel the order, and guess what, they shipped out the item two days after I cancelled the order. and I already bought the item from a local store. So i returned the item to buy.com. They credited my account for amount of the item, still charged me for the shipping, so i called and talked to two CRS, and both of them said I can cancel order within 30 minutes of placing my order. I said why would the crs i cancelled my with said it was ok to cancel the order. but both of them just kept going with BS, i asked to talk to a supervisor(forgot his name), he was real cool, after I explained the situation to him, he said, "I will credit your account within 3 to 5 business days." checked my account 3 days later, teh credit was there. sometimes you have to bit*h!

The real problem is UPS...I'm done with them. Their tracking system is not nearly as good as FedEx's. They will leave your package on your doorstep if you aren't home when they show up. The package would get to its location faster if you tied it to a kite and let the wind blow it across the country...they beat and bruise their packages...I don't care what it costs me, if FedEx isn't a shipping option, I won't order.

i usually trust fedex more too... sometimes it's not buy.com or whatever retailer's fault - it's the shipping company's.i haven't had that many problems with either fedex or ups, but sometimes you get lucky...

UPS won't leave packages at my door...

Anyway, I've said it before and I'll say it again: It doesn't matter who ships your items: they all suck. I've worked for 2 major shipping companies (briefly), and I have friends who've worked for 2 others. If you really don't want anything to happen to your package, go to B&M or don't get it at all.

UPS will leave it at your door unless the item is over $300. Every time I have used UPS the package was sitting at the door, though I don't mind this because the UPS main offiice is over 20 minutes away. Also, I just got a mb I ordered and used FedEx and the tracking wasn't nearly as good as UPS. The tracking wasn't even updated until the day before the package arrived, with UPS it was updated every day.

I have to agree that UPS suckkkkk,

I dont mind they leave packages at my front door, but the damn problem i have with them is they never ring my doorbell when they deliver. there are many times they drop off packages to me, and someone is home, but they are too damn lazy to raise hand to ring the doorbell, and that pissed me off.

hahahhaha
just kidding of course...u people are bit*hing about nuthin'. Wait till u have to deal /w USPS, US government can be your worse nightmare....I lost a package and it took 'em forever to figure out what's went wrong, even though I use priority plus tracking... finally (after about 3 months) they told me "sorry but it was lost 4ever next time use insurance! bye"

If they kissed your butt for every delivery made to you they wouldn't be in business very long.. accept it.. all the shipping companies suck especially the USPS whose delivery service I have used all my life.. you have no other choice but to pick it up yourself or pay an expensive courier to treat your package with great care..
Sure there are some exceptions to this and most people get their packages in perfect condition all the time.. it's all a game of chance, some lose others win but most companies have to ship with the lowest bidding service so they can survive in the chaotic world of electronic business and UPS happens to be one of the cheaper ways to ship items with insurance on a regular basis in great volume.. as we have seen by companies like Outpost.com :( sooner or later the company cannot afford to pay higher shipping costs and no one will pay $13 for overnight unless they really need something..
At least Buy.com has a very easy return policy that I have used many times without complaint so that UPS destroying the product won't matter so much.. however not getting your product definitely sucks but you can't really blame Buy.com because they have to be sure that your package actually is lost before they can take action..

Hey JavaCool, screw you, bitch.

UPS really sucks. Compared to USPS Priority Mail or FedEx, they're the worst delivery option, period. Get over it.

RobK, I think you seriously need to have the Mods wash your mouth out with soap. Mods could you do us a favor and ban him?
