Got 2 PSP games for my cousin because I was told he was getting one for Christmas and wanted to get my shopping, I place the order and call my aunt to let her know what games I got so that we don't conflict, I come to find out that they are getting him an xbox 360 instead. Hey no problem I'll just cancel the order, I then proceed to cancel the 2 items and am shown a "cancellation requested", hey cool they said they just need to make sure it's not sent etc etc. This is all in the same night might I add.

I then get 2 emails today letting me know that even though no one was working Thursday that my order was taken to the warehouse to be shipped, now I have to wait 2-3 days for shipping plus another 5-14 for credit back on it?

What kind of crap is this? I work in a warehouse and when an order is canceled it's canceled we don't ship it to them we keep it for other customers.

Buy.com shipping status and order processing has never been accurate or reliable.

In another recent buy.com thread someone posted an "in our warehouse" status for a pair of speakers that have yet to be shipped . . . since 2003.

"Usually ships in 1-2 days" inventory status is also a roll of the dice. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't ship for weeks.

That's just the way buy.com is. If there is a good deal and you're not in a hurry it can be an OK place to order from.

The only way I will buy from buy.com is if they have something that is loss leader and I will be better off selling on ebay than returning.

Come to think of it, their return is so bad that I once made a mistake of returning the wrong item (1GB MS instead of 1GB USB), they take it and send me a 1GB USB as replacement. Then they refuse to correct the mistake by sending me back what I just sent or pay for the difference in price (I bought both in 2 separate transaction). I guess it could be your advantage if you want to scam them, but as an honest transaction, this is pretty f**ked up.

Now the only way I would use buy.com is if I use a new email for google checkout and buy one of their loss leader (FAR flash drive, $32 CPU, etc)

So you're complaining that they expedited the shipping on your order? That's actually an endorsement for buy.com from my perspective.

Not really, "sent to warehouse" status doesn't necessarily mean it's been shipped, or that it will be shipped any time soon. As far as I can tell it just means your credit card has been successfully authorized for the charge.

Not doubting any problems but the few times I've ordered from buy.com have been pain free and deliveries were speedy - and cheaper than newegg.
