Thanks. Now I compelled to buy some junk from Buy.com just to let them know I appreciate the free shipping. Maybe I'll go get Black Hawk Down.

Nice, time to pick up some DVDs and possibly a FireWire card for my external Maxtor FireWire 80GB HD.

Read:

"The online retailer plans to announce on Wednesday a free shipping offer that"

When you looked it was Tuesday.

Hey that would be sweet. Tax and shipping took away most of the savings for me before. Now there is a chance I could get something cheap. Man I haven't bought anything from them for like years.

Don't get too excited. MANY items don't qualify.... and they decide this on an item-by-item basis, NOT by category.

I doubt you'll see free shipping too often on low-margin computer products. (Note today's hot deal, the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz for $57... awesome price if it included shipping, but you have to tack on $9 for shipping.)

mchammer: Read this thread. It's not based on weight. It's based on particular items.

For instance, many 19" monitors in the clearance section are shipped free, but some DVDs are not.

Awesome News!

Nothing will ever compare to Outpost.com's free overnight glorydays, but this is still sweet :D

Free shipping from buy.com is an added incentive. However, if you buy from CA, Indiana, TN or I think Mass you must pay sales taxes. I prefer to order from amazon which does not charge Sales taxes (I live in Indiana) since I am so pissed at the state of Indiana which has squandered a 2 Billion dollar surplus by increasing state spending a whopping 48% over the past 6 years. Now they are close to approving an increase in the sales tax from 5% to 6% (20% increase), raising the income tax by 20%, raising the gas tax 5 cents (33% increase), raising the cigarette tax 40 cents a pack (250% increase) and raising the gambling tax 20%. This is all being done in the name of "Good Fiscal Policy". Needless to say alot of incumbents will not be reelected.
