That's a way to compensate for the free shipping. How much is the markup? If they mark up higher than what shipping is normally, this whole free shipping deal is not great at all.

Damn.. Buy.com Free Shipping is lie.. They did adjustment at all the prices ...
I put in my basket Plextor 40x Wide before free shipping at 102.95. Now when I see the price it's become 106.95
Well even though there is difference 4 buck when the regular shipping cost is 6.95, but you have to pay more taxes if you live in CA like I do.

I assume you can't combine free shipping and coupons? Haven't bought anything from buy.com in a long time since I live in Cali and tax usually wipes out any money i could save.

You can't combine multiple coupons but when they are having a free shipping promo, you automatically get the free shipping and you can use 1 coupon code. So in this case, yes you can use a coupon and get free shipping.
