I received an email today saying that I will not get my Rebate on the Kingston Valueram 256MB from the Buy.com DOTD due to copied receipt and improper documentation.

Has anyone received their rebate? I know I sent all rebate info correctly. Not sure if I can do anything at this point.

I bought my RAM on 11/15 and mailed the $30 rebate on the last possible day 12/15. Hoping they will honor it.

Wonder what a good price is to ask for 256MB PC100 quality RAM?

Well I haven't got my 30 bucks back yet but I have gotten a 10 rebate for 64 megs of Kingston RAM. Took them about 2 months. I used the same method I used for the 64 megs so I hope I will get the 30 rebate too.

It seems that Kingston will try to do anything to try to weazel out of paying rebates. I just got an email saying that they wouldn't honor an Egghead rebate because it was not purchased in the right timeframe. The receipt clearly states that it is eligble. They also tried to worm out of paying a BestBuy rebate, saying I didn't pay enough for the ram.

I sent mine "return receipt" mail or whatever it is called. I sent it out right after thanksgiving weekend, and I just recieved the return receipt from the post office this friday. So they could have only gotten it a few days ago.

I got the same e-mail yesterday. What a bunch of crap. I sent the original packing slip (which the rebate said was valid). I haven't had any trouble with Kingston rebates in the past.

I also got a letter from Kingston denying rebate for some Valueram I bought from Computers4SURE.com. I'm pretty sure I filled everything out properly and submitted all recquired documention. Maybe folks should start informing vendors that Kingston is denying rebates in bad faith. I'm certainly going to send an email to computers4sure referencing this thread.

I also got an email from Kingston/TCA Rebates denying me a rebate for some Valueram I bought from Computers4SURE.com. They said that

Your rebate request has been denied for the following reasons:
STORE RECEIPT NOT SUBMITTED
PACKING SLIP NEEDED
INVALID INCOMPLETE OR ALTERED RECEIPT
NO DATE
Please mail a copy of this message along with requested information. to: KINGSTON Rebate Resolution 145 Huguenot ST New Rochelle NY 10801 Your signature: _____________________ Telephone:

I'm pretty sure I filled everything out properly and submitted all recquired documention.
I certainly didn't forget all that stuff.

I sent as much documentation as I had left to that address and never heard anything else from TCA. Whenever I've tried to go to TCA's web site to check the status of my rebate the site has been down.

Maybe folks should start informing vendors that Kingston/TCA is denying rebates in bad faith. I'm certainly going to send an email to computers4sure referencing this thread.

BUY.com is not particiapating in the kingston rebate as far as I know, If I am wrong can you tell me? Every other online store selling Kingston memory had thier own Kingston rebate form.
NOT BUY.COM THOUGHT WHY ????

Strange....for some reason, they send me the rebate with $25.00 instead of $30. Should I reply and ask them what's going on?

I received an email today stating that I was approved for the rebate. I sent both the "receipt" that is available for printing on Buy.com's website as well as the original packing slip (along with the other required enclosures).

I was a bit surprised as it has been my experience that most companies will try at least once to deny your rebate request, especially when you purchased the product from an online merchant. The usual reason for the denial is failure to include the original store receipt. In each of these cases, I've simply resubmitted the same information, along with a pissy letter and I have invariably received the rebates. I swear I think these rebate companies purposefully deny some percentage of rebates as a matter of course in an attempt to lower the cash outlay. This is in keeping with the whole purpose of the rebate, which is to offer cash back, knowing that a large percentage of the general public will be too lazy to pursue, and/or fight for, their money back.

I just now got my email...no rebate because of the buy.com invoice...does anyone have the online rebate link again, or a copy of it? I remember it saying that they were having a special rebate rebate in association with buy.com on the RAM...now they don;t accept the shipping invoice? :(

Disregard, I found the rebate form...

<b>&quot;End user must submit rebate form completely filled out along with the original sales receipt OR packing slip invoice...&quot;

these rebate people are ridiculous and sleazy.

they exist to deny valid claims.

technicalities, fudging and outright lying seem to be their MO.

umm as you can tell i've had some run-ins.
