You'll probably get an email from buy.com stating they have cancelled your order because it was actually out of stock. But then they'll have it online under a different SKU for a higher price.

I won't buy there any more.

Hard to decide between fair warning and thread crap there, Franky. But I'll counter that by saying I've succesfully used buy.com basically since they were founded, and have never, ever had a problem with them. It's my favorite online retailer by far.

That said, there has to be a reason their resellerratings and related rankings are pretty poor.

I had never had a problem with them either and really liked them until a week or 2 ago when their "Deal of the Day" was the SD Ram chip. Had counters on the page stating how many they had left, and then emailed out saying they could get them in stock. But the item was still on the website listed under a new SKU with a price $10 higher than the sale price from the day before.

I got them to credit me for it because the BBB got involved but it was very low handed.

In other words, you're angry because they had a limited quantity set aside as a DOTD, and didn't sell it to you at that price...precisely because there was a limited quantity and their orders exceeded that quantity. That sounds rather unreasonable, when the terms are pretty clear.

Buy.com I like next best to Amazon...no problems, dozens of orders.

I had a run in with Buy.com over the DOTD 256 SD card. Emailed me it was unavailable 3 days after ordering when it was still clearly in stock at a higher price and different SKU. Meanwhile people who had ordered a few hours after me got it. So it was clearly not 'unavailable'. So you see a pattern here...

Um..I like buy.com and purchase from them a couple times a year for the last few years. However I have had 3 different "great deals" that never came through. Out of stock (forever), cancelled or no longer available..... but always available on site though with a different sku and a higher price. I'm not bashing, but just warning that they pull wierd stuff when a product is priced much better than their competition.

Op thanks for the heads up on the card though.
