BUsiness on the internet should mirror B&M business in the real world.

scenario: You are checking out at Wal Mart counter, you are buying an item that is advertised as having 30% discount.

The scanner somehow showed that the item is 60% off ! The receipt was printed and you paid the amount shown on the receipt (60% off).

You went home, opened & used the products.

4 days later Wal mart sent you a letter saying the scanner was wrong and it was clearly written on the advertisiment board as 30%.

Wal mart wants your written permission to charge the differences to your credit card or you have to return back the item to the store.

verdict: ???
================================================

BUy.com has been kind to its customers this i cannot deny. It was UBID's computer mistakes that let the deal went through.

If BUy.com insists, at least they should issue a fully paid UPS call tag to come pick up the goods back.

I can send them back the book that i ordered but i already broken the seal on CD that comes with the book. I doubt that they can resell the merchandise anyways.

Well, I do not mind giving back the products that i purchased but i am not going to lose my own money to box/package the goods and pay for UPS shipping/insurance charges just because of UBID's SYSTEM GLITCH.

The difference is that you knew about the mistake and tried to take advantage of it. An honest person would mention the mistake so the store can fix it, preventing a fiasco such as this one.

Another scenario to think about...
If a cashier gives you back too much change, would u keep it or return it. Since the cashier made the mistake, does that automatically justify you to be dishonest?

My point: is it honest for a person to take advantage and exploit someone's mistake for their own greedy purposes?
