Buy books or get at library?

Both
It depends on the book. If its one by an author I have never read before or only semi like then library. If its a book by somebody I like or isn't available at the Library then I buy and usually a used one if I can.

There are very few books I have ever wanted to read more than once, so getting it at the library would only make sense.

<------------has a whole closet full of books.

Depends. If it's a book that I plan on reading for more than 3 weeks, I will buy it, but I usually use the library.

i used to buy a lot of books to build up my own library, which is something ive always wanted. now, though, i tend to be searching for out of print and hard to find at the bookstore books for my collection and just borrowing books to read from the public library or friends. of course, i read all the books in my library...but it is never a rush-job or something i feel i have to do. i buy them becuase i know i want them (ie: different prints of vonnegut, philip k. dick or gary wolf) but not becuase i feel like i have to read that particular copy.
so, in short: i buy a lot and i borrow a lot.
mostly borrow now.

The poll needs a BOTH option. I usually research the net or other books in order to build a reading list of the books I want to read. And where I live, my library very seldom has any of those books. Occasionally I'll be able to get some of them through the Inter-Library Loan system. If not, then I'll order them from Amazon. In fact, I have a shipment expected to arrive this week.

I am an avid library user, and read a lot of books (I'm currently reading Jack L. Chalker's "Soul Rider" books, a series I've read before a decade or two ago).. I buy books when I find one that's so good I'd like to keep it and come back to it any time.

i purposely left it out. i wanted to know which people do MORE, not which they do...hence only two choices

Ahem..............

"So...in the end, you've dropped $150,000 on an education you could have picked up for $10 in late fees at the library......"
