Buy a Focus ST, get a GoPro free!

Well now, the inexpensive performance game just got considerably more interesting. Ford has officially dropped pricing on its upcoming 2013 Focus ST, and it starts at $24,495 (*including a $795 delivery charge). That kind of coin will net you a EcoBoost 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine good for a whopping 252 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque, along with a torque-steer compensation system that works in conjunction with electronic power steering to keep the nose pointed in the right direction. If you're keeping track, those power metrics are slightly north of the figures Ford had previously released. A variable-ratio steering rack toes the line between sport and comfort while the sport suspension sits the chassis 10 mm closer to the ground than the stock configuration.

That fire-spitting four-cylinder breathes easy through a free-flowing exhaust, and interior options like Recaro bucket seats give the cabin a little pedigree. Of course, massive wheels and plenty of aero work are both part of the package as well. What's more, Ford says it will give early buyers a GoPro HD Hero2 Motorsports camera when they pick up the keys. Sweet.

Also, configurator is also live

I hope Mazda ups the Speed3 to stay in the game, it's so outdated in comparison :\ They kept the old 2.3L after the much, much, much, much better 2.5L came through (power/smoothness/fuel economy improvements). Turbo'ing the 2.5 along with some minor tweaks here and there would do the trick.

Well played, Ford. Though FF is still not a sell for me in a sports/sporty car.

What a butt ugly nose.

It literally looks like this--->D:

Id have gotten this instead of the 335i had it come out in time.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat??????????????????

The 335i is a brute, proper FR, with proper powerband.

It's in such a different league that I can't wrap my head around what you just said. Unless you're thinking on terms like maintenance costs, fuel economy, etc.

AWD and 250+ HP yet?

Yeah. It also does 3+gs on the skidpad, and 9.8 sec 1/4 mile.

Sebastian Vettel would lose to this thing not because it's faster, but because he would bust out laughing at this -->D: in his sideview mirror and lose it before the first turn.

Antithesis to the MS3 :awe:

haha yeah, gg Ford, turn that frown upside down and you've got a Mazda goofy grin car 3. Maybe Ford and Mazda body designers are locked in a basement with no internet access whereas Pininfarina guys are too busy laughing and reserve their goofy grin designs for coke machines:

Do you post anything that makes sense?

The front actually looks like an someone running and screaming. Anyone know what the mpg is?

Car&Driver thinks 21 city 31 Highway

Ford Edge which weighs 800lbs more and uses the same engine gets - 21/30 (24mpg combined)

I'm guessing 22/32 and 25mpg combined.

GTI gets 21/31 and weighs 200lbs less.

No word on Canadian availability... the sigh.

where is the front bumper cover?

GTI is also very low in power by comparison stock v stock. Tunable of course.

I really like hot hatches, I didn't get another GTI because it would basically just be getting the same car twice. WRX has stupidly high insurance, MS3 is fugly.

Mustang was out because the dealer was a jackass and I was running out of time, S4 was too expensive.

335i was the trump card in case everything else didn't work out. I would have been happy with either 🙂
