Buy a 7900 GTX stock? Factory OCed?

Looking at picking up a 7900 GTX. Is it worth it to buy one of the "superclocked" or "extreme" variants from EVGA or XFX? Or will most retail stock cards hit those speeds anyways? I know Gainward used to put faster memory on their Golden Sample cards - are these companies doing the same?
