Hisense 50" Class - R7G5 Series - 4K $390

i'm just using it with rabbit ears.

What do you think of this TV?
cheaper if i wait till Black Fri in Nov?

or wait till next year and hope the chip shortage is over? (ie: Superbowl week)

edit:
I'm replacing a 24" crt tv from last century.
it works fine for what i watch with rabbit ears.
i dont watch tv much.
Just thought i'd upgrade to something modern.

The model in the OP seems fine:
I think he's saying get a U7G if it fits your budget.

Also, TVs are to the point where you won't buy another one for a decade; or if it dies prematurely. So might not be a bad idea to buy a little more than you want. I'm still using a plasma TV from 2011, and besides a high power draw, I have no immediate plans to replace it.

and now there's a 55" u6g for $519 on my radar:

anyway, buy now or wait till black fri? (my old 24" crt tv still works fine for the stuff i watch on rabbit ears)

if you want a cheap TV go ahead and get one now. But I wouldnt. I am at the point in my life where I wont be buying a new television unless its high quality. I'll probably wait for black friday myself.
Also, think about where you are watching it. If you are watching in a small living room, or with the couch close to the TV, you may not need 55 inches or even 50 inches. I have been getting by with a 42 in set for years now and its more than fine.

so costco started a sale on 43" r7g5 for $300 today.
and of course, i bought the 55" u6g last week.
arrrggg! :(

is the 55" u6g $200 better than the 43" r7g5? (43" fits better with what i have.)
plus the added hassle of returning the 55" (amazon)?

Check the warranty. I bought a Hisense that died just weeks after the warranty expired and they (HiSense) wouldn't budge on doing anything about it. That's when I went with a Samsung model that has a 3 year warranty. Nevermind just saw the product page says 3 years so should be okay.
