Buy 2x 80GB or 1x 200GB?

I've got 2x 80GB IDE drives on a RAID 0 config now on my IDE. I would like to upgrade my system. If possible, I would like to buy either 2x 80GB SATA drives or 1x 200GB SATA drive. I believe having 1 drive is better but it would be slower than a RAID 0 config on the 80GB Drives. I am a gamer and most of my games will be installed on the drive(s) (FEAR, Quake 4, etc). I have a separate IDE 80GB for all of my other information (music, downloads, etc).

Which would be the best choice? (I could also use one of my 80GB's that is used in the RAID 0 for a backup of the storage drive as well)

Why not go 300GB's and get more storage.

That would leave you room to upgrade to a RAID0 package later on and get 600GB. You don't have to get that drive of corse, but it's a good bang for your buck (just ignore the bad reviews). Plus with NCQ on that thing (if your mobo supports it) and 16MB of cache, the speed difference from 80GBx2 will not be that noticable especially if your 80GB drives are older 5200RPM or 2MB or cache models.

But if i had to choose one of the above, id go with the 200GB one and then get another later.

I have two 80 gig sata's running in raid0 and one 200 gig WD SATA2 running just by itself as the OS and downloads drive. The RAID0 is for strictly games. I'm happy thus far.
