I was doing stuff with my signature, and it kept saying I was exceeding the 255 character limit. Yet, when I copied and pasted my sig from that little window thingy into Microsoft Word, and checked the Character Count, with spaces, it was 193 characeters. What's the deal?

it counts the actual amount of HTML code that will be required. Hence, links add more than just [ L = ] and [ / L ] (<A HREF sound familiar?).

ummm.. nope.....

It's the code that goes into making the links and whatever, therefore if you have a link that says &quot;Click me&quot; but the code makes it say, &quot;<a href=&quot;www.whatever.com&quot;>Click me</a>&quot; Therefore turning your 8 character &quot;click me&quot; link, into one muuuuuuuuch bigger.

*disclaimer: cash value of prize: $1.50. Please send $6.75 shipping and handling and wait 6-8
weeks.

<< Oh I get it. So if I were to type

[ L = Link ] h t t p : / w w w . a o l . c o m [ / l ]

which is 29 characters it sees it as

<a href=&quot;http://www.aol.com&quot;>link</a>

which is 36 characters. Dude, you're awesome!
>>
