But, before everyone holds this up as another example of the extreme lengths people will now go to for the perfect selfie, some have joked they see the hand at work of America's prankster in chief, Jimmy Kimmel.

Indeed, Cooper Fleishman, the editor of the Dailydot tweeted that he would find it amusing if the video was revealed to be a set-up, filmed on an ABC studio lot and that the engineer was in fact Kimmel.

The ABC late-night host has a past history for viral internet pranks - during the Sochi Winter Olympics he managed to get a picture of a wolf roaming the athletes village to go viral.

In fact it was a fake, but that did not stop multiple outlets running with the image.

Of course, dailymail did not provide any evidence that it was actually fake.

Seems almost set up to me, or the guy would be in the hospital.

The guy was either just hanging his foot out enjoying scenery and just had his leg hanging out and hit him and actually backed off or I don't know what.

If he would have actually kicked him with that boot the guys head probably would have went flying like a golf ball.

The foot probably saved him, if it was not for that a metal part of the train would have hit him next. I did not realize it was an actual kick till it was mentioned here though. I'm surprised he lived tbh but the fact that he got hit with a foot sorta explains it, it's a tad softer than a steel bar or other part of a train. Still, that's a pretty fast moving foot... he easily could have died if it hit him wrong and snapped his neck or something.

Yeah. Looked to me like the guy was trying to push him away from the train so he didn't get hit by a metal bit.
