Bah. Stupid thing only dropped like 2.5 feet onto tile, but it must have hit just right. Still usable if I don't try to swipe the really cracked part near the point of impact.

Are there any really practical solutions other than replacement?

It's not a time for sadness. It's an occasion for joy. You have an excuse to get a new phone!

I just got it for Christmas :'( ... not that I wouldn't like an HTC One.

Just replace the glass

I'll check that out.

Edit: checked out that XDA thread (70 or 80 pages worth!). It looks like it is worth a shot for the cost of the glass and an hour or so.

Busted my Note 2 screen this past Saturday. Totally bummed. The local repair shop is out of replacement screens, too. Hopefully they will get more in by this weekend. Gonna buy a GS3 off Craigslist tomorrow for $250, get the Note 2 fixed & sell the GS3.

Went back to the GS3 and omfg...it feels like I am using an iPhone 4. The screen feels SOOOOO small. Crazy thing is it is still a massive screen by today's standard, at 4.8"

Don't have the time or patience to do it myself. Local shop does it for $129 installed with 6 month guarantee.
