I just reinstalled it...relive the glory days of Maxis, before they were a one trick Sims Pony Owned by EA....this game is still, IMO, the best of the Sim City Games...soo much fun, and it runs under XP!

(no, I won't send it to you,, it can still be bought nearly anywhere for ~$5)

Dude they need to make a Sim Copter 2 with super new bad ass ultra graphics (dual 7800 GTX's would struggle to process the city in insane detail).

One of the funnest games I've ever played, and I'm sure it would be big again to any crowd out there.

I used to play the original Sim City (or the one that came before Sim City 2000). Then I got SIm City 2000. I never could finish how to actually run the city, so I just used tons of cheats and built pointless cities then let aliens blow them up.

SimCity 2k is the best Sim City to date. 3000 and 4 were merely okay, but 2000 was the best, hands down.

You can't run 3000 or 4 unattended as you could with 2k. In 3k, if you kept things (taxes/ordances/etc) the same for a few years, people would start to complain and vacate your city. Try setting it up then leaving for a weekend trip, returning to find your city almost entirely abandoned and bankrupt.

Like the one where someone's looking for a job and his friend tell him to just eat a can of frosting?
And I never did understand the big reward at the end where you got to listen to the aliens that sound like guinea pigs for an inordinate amount of time.
