none

(note it's all lower case)

Because other shops/services always say "We are second to none" they are saying they're second to you :)

I'm assuming this is going to be opened up as a Sole Propietorship.

So then you realize that you have to have your name in it.

I've done this before, and chose a cool name that I knew what it meant, and thought it would be obvious to everyone - but it wasn't.

So my suggestion is to go with something simple and to the point.

"LastName Computer Designs and Services"

or

"LastName Computer Solutions"

or

"LastName Desktop Publishing and PC Retail"

:)

haha, nice. I'm not great at coming up with names or titles for anything. Whether it's essay titles or anything like that, I'm terrible..

I agree with SagaLore. Make it plain and descriptive, not clever.

#1 Computer Solutions & Services (this gets you listed first in any alphabetical listings)

First, learn hose to spell business in your topic title.
Oh, the irony!

I believe SagaLore's suggestion to be best. As a small business you probably haven't any marketing budget to develop brand recognition, and your name therefore becomes the most marketable asset. If you go with a name rather esoteric than you will need to build a brand, because the name has no meaning in the public's mind. If you go with a general name that has meaning (e.g. Quality PC, or something equally dull) you run the risk of being lost among the other general companies who chose the same path. Granted, if your services are exceptional you will eventually stand out; however, the more easily your name is recognized the better. I fought with the same interesting vs. uninventive name when I started consulting, and in the end I realized that my name persists in the minds of my clients far more easily than something esoteric or general. People already knew my name, so I already had appreciable brand recognition when I started; you might elicit the same.

Anyway, good luck!
