Just a couple of questions:

What are you using to determine your “lax enforcement” claim? Is there a source that compares year over year and admin to admin?

Lastly, what do you expect a new admin to do?

Everyone knows handing out pieces of paper to people who likely never show up to a court for a hearing is lax enforcement. No, they should be held pending review of their asylum claims, not allowed to mill about the country for decades in an illegal status.

Exactly. We must begin immediate deportations immediately and make them apply for asylum from home. Our borders are ignored by Biden and Kamalah and they laugh at those who are concerned about our sovereignty.

Hopefully they will both sent back to their respective homes and replaced by a president and vice president who actually care about border security and LEGAL immigration.

so...you're saying you want Obama back in office? He holds the record for most removed.

Considering they should be stopped at the border, or immediately deported, but the fed gov blocks the true course of action... and forces this burden upon the states, how would you not expect them to offload this expense and not expect you to share the burden?

Refugees / large inflows of immigration are ever a destabilizing force. There will be consequences to rejecting a secure border, up to and including insurrection.

The lord giveth and the lord taketh away.
How many cashback billions does Texas get from the US federal gov?

So Abbott is reta... retracted... I understand that right?

Cool, so this is another claim I’m sure you can back up with actual data. You can include it with the other info I ask for.

I see old jaskalas is back. How disappointing. You’d think that after having been lied to for decades that you’d know better to research obvious talking points. Alas, it’s a lesson you still fail to learn.

Felix I know we've gone over this before in other threads on immigration. Continuing to claim that people don't show up for their hearings is just a lie and you repeating it is a form of trolling.

I'll amend my previous statement, not just for Greg Abbott, but for anybody who carries Greg Abbott's water who gets accidentally hit by a truck, I'll do a sad little cheers with my drink for them no problem.

If you don’t like how US law works then change the law.

Remember, the law is what the law is. Not what you wish it was. If you want the sort of immigration law that does this sort of deportations what are you willing to give up for it? Tenfold increase in legal immigration each year?

Why does it have to be one or the other? I'm not anti-immigration, but I do believe the country has the right...the duty to it's citizens to be VERY picky about who is allowed to immigrate.

Well first of all we admit far, far too few immigrants as it is. It’s kind of funny how everyone is complaining about how they can’t find workers and yet when you offer them more workers they say no.

Second, I have no problem with our asylum law as it is, other than the courts are way understaffed and need more judges to speed the process. So if you want me to change something to what you think is better then you need to make a deal and change something in a way I think is better.

Less asylum? Way more legal immigration then. Like…way more.

Yes you are. Every single one of your posts about immigration leans heavily right wing.

LEGAL immigration can be a net positive for the country. We NEED new blood, otherwise the country will slowly die off due (at least in part) to the lowering birth numbers...HOWEVER, ILLEGAL immigration tends to be a net negative for the country. Companies and farmers who depend on the cheap labor depend on them...the rest of us end up supporting them and their families. (and, FWIW, I've been a registered DEMOCRAT since 1972...and have NEVER voted for any (R) candidate.)

This is America's problem thanks to Biden encouraging illegal immigration through lax enforcement and worldwide recognition the administration doesnt give a damn about it either. The only thing that busing helps is to spread the misery around to places where the problem is easy to ignore.

Thankfully this administration will end in two years and the reckless policy of "catch and release" will again be sent to the dustbin of history.

1) the policy differences between the 2 administrations.

2) there is some weather stuff going on in Texas. And thousands of Texans lost power. But instead of working on a fix Abbot focused on human trafficking instead. Good job to both of you to focus on what is important
