Nice Job MysticMan1, I'd rather get this than the 2.4x in the OM F&F deal tomorrow.

A couple of this things that I liked are:
. The Canon i470D printer for $50. AR . I just bought an i450 for $50. and it's a VERY nice printer for the money. The 470D is the photo printer version (the new version, i475d, is out now that adds 5x7 edge-to-edge photos), so its tweaked more toward photo printing and includes memory card slots and an LCD control panel. Here's the kicker: you can get a set of carts (1-blk + 1-tricolor) for $3.!!! on the Web. Only drawback is support for use with Linux is nonexistent. IAC, it's a LOT of printer for the money! Lots of other printer deals too - 29 of 'em.
. The other is the HP Photo Smart 735. 3.2MP. with a free accessory kit and a free 64MB SD memory card $200. And no rebate to hassle with. HP digicams are made by Pentax so you can't go too far wrong.

Nice deal!

Can you tell from the box whether you're getting a Lite-On or NEC?

I just used a $30 off $150 coupon and a 12% off customer appreciation coupon today for a Brother MFC-3820CN all-in-one so you might be able to combine coupons.

Is Buslink still slow as mole-asses with their rebates?

Check your email too: I received an email this afternoon good for a 20 off 100 coupon if I update my profile. All I had to do was provide my name and address plus answer two questions about my shopping habits (e.g. for personal or business use, etc). The coupon was one of those with a 16-digit bar code.

$30 +tax for the i470 :D

I got one of these a couple of weeks ago and had to exchange it. The first box contained a rebadged NEC-1300A; The second box contained a Lite-On LDW-411S. No difference in the 2 boxes and no serial number printed on the outside of the box which might have helped to determine manufacturer.

Richard98, what is the CDRW specs on the Buslink box you got with the rebadged Lite-On in it? The Lite-On DVD burner's CDRW specs are 40x24x40, the specs on the NEC ND-1300 is 32x24x40. Can anyone conform that there are different specs on the Buslink boxes?

]Edited The specs on the NEC ND-1300 is 16x12x40 not 32x24x40.

The box that contained the Lite-on drive shows: 16X CD-R Record, 10X CD-RW-Rewrite, 40 X CD-Read

Picked up one at Staples. It's a Lite-On LDW-411S , CDRW speed listed as 16x10x40x on box. Littte sticker on the box says it comes with Roxio Easy CD Creator / DVD Edition. I was hoping to get the NEC since I already have the Lite-On from BB BF.

Stopped by CompUSA for something else and found the Buslink DVD burner that had CDRW speed listed as 40x24x40x and a Sonic DVD software sticker. Didn't buy it so I don't know what's inside. It's on sale for $100 after MIR.

It seems that the Lite-On one is a better drive.
Than maybe it is better to just buy a Lite-On DVDRW drive from BB starting today for 129.99 - 20 MIR - 30 MIR.

Same price, with one more rebate, but it was sold out at best buy early this morning. Maybe that will change later in the week. I initially would have preferred the NEC, but I've been very pleased with the performance of the lite-on. I've tested it with +R/-R/+RW and it works without a hitch. I didn't care for the Roxio software included with the drive.

I just picked up one of these buslink dvd burners and it's a rebadged NEC. The markings on the box are indistinguishable from the one the poster who got a rebadge Liteon. I don't think there is anyway to tell until you open the box. Buslink does not put a SN on the box like the now defunct Cendyne used to do to let you know which is which. You used to be able to tell which CD burner was in the buslink box, cause the burn proof sticker for a Liteon said SMARTBURN. Has anyone figured this out yet? Those who got Liteons, what state are you in, and those who got NECs, what state are you in? Seems the only way to tell is to figure out which warehouses supplied the staples in what areas of the country with what drives....:)

I was in CompUSA yesterday too, (picked one one of those $19.99 no rebate manager chairs), and saw the the 2 different Buslink DVD burner boxes, maybe the box marked Buslink DVD burner 16x10x40x are old boxes that had the NEC 1300 drives inside before they started putting the LiteOn drives in that box and the new boxes marked 40x24x40 probably all have the LiteOn drives inside the box, I don't think they would say that the CDRW speed is 40x24x40 on the box and put a NEC drive with a CDRW speed of 16x10x40x in the box, people would fell like they being deceive. Has anyone found a NEC drive inside the Buslink box marked CDRW speed 40x24x40?

Got one today! Said 16x10x40x on the box and inside was a Lite-On 411S!
I'm happy cause Bestbuys was sold out of the Lite-On. I got this one for the same
price after $20 off $100 coupon and only 1 $30 rebate (which is a staples and not
a buslink rebate) $86 total after tax and rebate. Not bad!!

Now I need a hot deal on some DVD's!!

I bought this drive and recieved the NEC. Can I use regular NEC firmware to update this drive or do I have to get it from buslink?

Also, it's showing up as Generic Stealth DVD-Rom under device manager, I can't burn or do anything else. Anyone know what might be wrong?
