hey does anyone know where some of these computer parts stores get their components from? there must be a well known distributor or wholesaler.

Ingram Micro is one of the biggest.

If you're thinking of undercutting retail stores by buying direct from the distributor, you have another think coming. Volume sales are the key to discounts, and unless you're buying several pallets of whatever, good luck getting a price better than what you'd see on Pricegrabber.
