I had graduated with a degree in Finance and currently work in that field. I have a wide level of experience in business development both in terms of theory and application.

However, there seems to be a huge wall between theory and application. Specifically, when it comes to looking for investors and/or developers for a particular business.

Is there anyone here with first-hand experience that have taken a good business model from paper to an actual profitable business without personal capital at their disposure? How did you go about doing it?

For instance, how did you secure your ideas when prospecting investors and/or web developers? I feel that confidentiality agreements have their limitations, especially if my idea is stolen, altered slightly, and then developed on its own without me. (Like that recent Facebook lawsuit alleging this very same thing by ConnectU).

Any ideas/advice is welcomed. Thanks.

To start you need to develop a business plan. When discussing with others, you need them to sign an agreement of non-disclosure.
