So, I run a business doing computer-related services, anything and everything, so a gentleman called me interested in trading services, 6 full page ads in 6 different resident directories for some small retirement communities, long story short, the first problem he comes across is basically the motherboard/cpu/memory needs replaced, and of course in our contract we say nothing of parts , strictly labor. i uploaded the contract for your viewing pleasure http://i12.tinypic.com/2cgltky.jpg

so he thinks I SHOULD have to pay for parts and basically build him a new system or go and BUY him one, i say i don't think so, we only discussed labor and obviously I'm not liable for anything other, am i right? I mean i would have never gotten into it if i knew at anytime he needed a new system id have to pay for them, doesn't make sense to me.

THOUGHTS?

If he resorts to that (especially if he puts it in print), sue him for libel and slander.

That doesn't look like a contract, it looks like an invoice for advertisement space. You should have had an actual contract drawn up.

agreed. it'd be hard to find out / prove, i mean he'd probably just say it and i'd never get the customers so how would i really know??

i was thinking about throwing a cheap mobo/proc/memory and getting this system going for him but its the principle i don't want him to think he can do this.

basically i guess thats what it is, but instead of payment you can see how he put in a trade off and then the labor rates....nothing spoke of parts.
