I am currently a senior in high school and it is time for me to decide what I should do next year. I have looked into most UC Schools, CSU, some ivy leagues and some others. But I still don?t really know what type of degree I should be looking for, that is why I came here you guys are pretty much from everywhere and can probably provide more information for me.

Also I have been considering going to some local vocational schools and getting some certifications (MCSE, MCDST ect) But so far two degrees that have somewhat interested me are a BS in BA with MIS (Management Information Systems) from CSUS ( http://aaweb.csus.edu/catalog/current/colleges/c_ba.asp ) or a BS in BIS (Business Information Systems) with MIS from CSU Chico ( http://www.cob.csuchico.edu/Departments...rams/Undergraduate_Programs/index.html )
I have decided against a CS degree since I don?t really like programming and I don?t really like math that much.

A little bit more about me:
Location: Sacramento Area (California) would like to stay in California but if I find a program elsewhere I wouldn?t mind leaving.
Current HS GPA: 3.5+
New Sat Score: 1570
First/Current Job: Intern at Computer Repair Place for my ROP Program (Computer Business Technology) I can see myself doing this for a real job but still would like more bigger options.
What I can do: Computer Repair and Support, Making Documents and stuff, Web Design, Other Stuff
Future Goals: Don?t really know yet, just looking for a degree that can get in me a decent job in something I like doing.

If anybody has any better advice for me it would greatly be appreciated. I really still don?t know what I should do and time is running short.

Cliffs:
I need help finding a degree or something else that i might like doing.

TIA

in my opinion only, do not go to vocational school. In my opinion(only), I feel that a bachelors will be better then any certifications.

With that out of the way, I feel that if you like computers and stuff, but dont like the hardcore programming, then get an MIS degree. you get a lot of business exposure, but also some technical knowledge.

If you want to go go straight to hardcore business, then go for business administartion

Thanks for the advice. Does anyone else know any other degrees that are like MIS or do you think that is better for what I like to do. I haven't been able to find many other schools (besides CSUS, Chico, and SJUS) that offer this BS in California.

If I had to do it over again and knew I wanted to go into business (and cared more about the ends rather than the means), I'd start planning for the MBA the second I stepped onto my undergrad university.

That would include:
o Picking the major I could get the best GPA in (At my school, those were AfAm studies, NatAm studies, and Mass Comm), and do something on the side to prove I could hang with the quant types (take a few econ/stat class, tutor high school math or whatever)
o Extra-curriculars. Wouldn't matter as long as I was a leader
o Internships. To start networking
o Maybe start studying for CPA/CFA tests since I was learning a lot of the necessary material anyway.

This is incomplete, but I'll bump it again - Text

oh, and also, back when I started college(2002) MIS was a very popular major because it was supposedly easy, so almost everyone and their dog majored in it; this included a lot of business majors, all the engineers dropout, and all the asian-americans who couldn't do it in 'pre-med...'

I'm not sure if it considered an 'easy' major at the school of your choice, but if you do decide to major in it, be sure to do a very good job, get internships as soon as possible, join your schools business groups, and if all possible, consider strongly for grad school. that willl help your job finding much easier...
