Link

It's the church who's refusing to pay employee with holding. They claimed they "had a deal" with Bush.

Some local (crazed) militia groups are offering their services.

Edit: Fixed the link (I can be such a dork).

I love the part where the one person says:"This is a great, devastating blow to religious freedom in America".

What the heck does not paying federal taxes have to do with religious freedom???

Should we pay taxes to the secular government? Jesus said "Yes." See Luke 20:20-26. In supporting taxes to secular government, Jesus no doubt alienated the Zealot Faction of his day.

Apparently, zealots still exist.

As do the people who let their children die for faith healing.

"Oh well. I guess God didn't want him to live."

Hmmm I thought churches were exempt from paying taxes. The must have had some daycare or some other revenue getters besides tithes.

Cheapster - They did have other revenue, mainly a school. It's funny because this church used to be the 11th largest Baptist church in the country. However, when they started doing funky things like not paying taxes several years ago, they lost their membership. At the end, there were only about 25 people still left holding out (down from about 500 6 months ago) and a huge empty church building. Alot of people realized what they were doing was bogus and switched churches a long time ago.

The media is trying to make this look like the government's just going in and taking over churches. The fact is, the members who once went here left a long time ago and the 25 fanatics were the only ones left. The decision was made last October to evict them, but they wouldn't leave and have had a standoff for the past 5 months.

I doubt Bush would pull a Waco. He has better advisers. I rather liked Waco myself. When a Communist Attorney General (enemy of my freedom)kills a bunch of frothing loony religious fanatics (ditto), I win. Indeed, most of us do.
