Bush's pattern of lies

...not that single episode [IRAQ + Uranium], but the broader pattern of dishonesty and delusion that helped get us into the Iraq mess -- and that created the false expectations undermining our occupation today. Some in the administration are trying to make George Tenet the scapegoat for the affair.

yeah it's time the Bush Regime is held accountable for their other false accusations made against other situations in the world

the Regime changes comments/stories and uses Bush-ism words (not real words) to create an environment of confusion, and expect that the American people will err on the side of whatever convenient excuse the Regime makes at the time it is held accountable.

The American people are not intelligent enough nor do they have the fine training required to understand what is best for the country. We had to get involved in an illegal war and we needed to lie about the reasons because we have the power to take what is to our advantage. Small people don't have the guts and brains for that kind of bold thinking. That's why a hidden group has seized power and is wielding it in our interests. We will win as long as the voter can be kept away. Trust me, you are too dumb to understand. Accept your programming and go back to sleep. It's a New American Century.

Moonbeam, you are arguing that a small group of individuals shoudl run the country because the general population is too lethargic / stupid to do it themselves. What about when this small group no longer acts in the interest of the greater good but only in their own interests (as Bush has done)?

Well, they may be smarter than everyone else, but sooner or later they will realize its not in their best interest to serve the common good. They become oppressive and turn the nation into an oligarchy in which only their own interests are served. Also, how can they define the greater good? What the hope is in a society is to serve the greatest good (ie purely qualitatively). Therefore if their decisions serve only themselves, they cannot be serving the "greater good".

Thus, although the general population may not be as intelligent, they are better for the overall country.

Can we flush the toilet and get all the turds (or even some of the turds) out of Washington? It's not enough to just swirl around the bowl of turds.

Is there anyone outside of that class that is worthy of a vote? I'm not trying to be confrontational; I'm truly interested in knowing. More to the point, are there electable people that will bring reform? Or is it as impossible as I have felt it to be?

It's not that I don't think there are people worthy and capable of doing a better job, I just don't think any of those folks are electable, or will be elected in enough numbers given the power and special interests of the political machines behind both major parties, to make any real change.

I think you know I don't vote, never have. I'd like to one day but so far the track record has proven to me that it's pointless. As we go down this road, we step a little to this side or we step a little to that side, but no matter what happens, I can't seem to avoid getting sh!t on my shoes. Maybe it's the road.
