Go here to see the video: Bush drinking at 1992 wedding reception!
Now, we all KNOW the guy swore off drinking in 1986, 6 years before this video was shot.

My best friend is an alcoholic, and she says that bushlite's statement about going on the wagon is very suspect, considering how he acts here...she says she has said and heard the same thing many times before. If he lies once about his drinking, he lies all the time about it. And here we have our proof, folks.

The guy seems like a lush to me...just the man we want for president!

Good grief! And this guy is Presidential material? I'm less concerned about the drinking than the utterly stupid repartee. Nice find, I'm Typing.

Not as flamebait or anything, but I'd like to hear the opinion of the people who plan on voting for Bush. Russ is the only one that comes to mind, but I know there are many more conservatives on the board.

late.

Their responses:

"Oh, he was only kidding"
"That was over over 8 years, water under the bridge"
"Has nothing to do with his presdential credentials"

yadda yadda

He was joking around you turds :p It was a wedding. Oh wait, I forgot, you antisocial Democratic baby killer types don't get invited to any social functions and probably don't have any friends, so naturally this scenario would be incomprehensible to you :p

His speech wasn't slurred the slightest, why would you think he was drunk? :p

And what if he *gasp* drank alcohol at a party? Many of the founding fathers from New England were distillers of rum, and those from the South, distillers of whiskey and gin. Ain't nothing wrong with a little partying, you damn prudes :p

This is a pitiful smear campaign.

LOL, that was funny as hell. But all of you who'll give this guy flack just remember that everyone's human. Its not like none of you have gotten drunk at a wedding reception and bashed the bride and groom ;)

Looked like a water glass to me. --And this is a point to be made. If that was a reception with a bar, the bar would put drinks in their proper containers. --Meaning they would NOT put a martini or vodka or any other clear drink in a water glass. But who gives a damn? You guys are sad.

Hell, if Al Gore was there he would have been hitting the bong. So what is the difference between GWB and Gore?

OK I'm not a Democrat or Republican (those parties don't even exist in Canada), so as an outsider, I just have to say everybody should be laughing at this...it's funny as hell. Why are so many Republicans here getting so offended and put on the defensive...relax!:)

Maybe he wasn't drunk at the time, but he sure seemed like he liked to drink and smoke (pot? cigarettes? cocaine? who knows....) by his comments!

<< antisocial Democratic baby killer >>

Wtf is wrong with you? I don't see anyone calling you something so demeaning and repulsive...though I could, but I won't, you see, its called respect for other's opinions and beliefs. If you don't like my beliefs, why don't you just...go smoke some pot with George W. Shrubbery!? ;) heh

Cybersax, please ease off on the attitude, it really makes any political thread go to hell in a hurry. :(

I dunno why, I guess they're just uptight like that. They crack on Gore all the time, but when something comes up about their "poster boy," they bust a nut.

Seriously, I would like to know what the big fiasco is here. George W. Bush is over 21 and he's drinking something (possibly alcohol) at a party. He's clearly not "wasted", although he may have had a drink or two, but it's not known from this video because he's just joking around either way.

Would one of you prude Puritan types *please* explain to me what you find so interesting?

I think it's pretty funny. He doesn't look drunk IMO, it just looks like he's having a good time.

Let's put it this way, if this had been the same video with Al Gore instead of George Dubabyah, you guys would be doing the EXACT same thing.
